DIY Glass Etching

For my boys' coaches I decided to give glass etching a whirl!!
When Dallin coached football a few years ago,
a parent gave him a mug that had his name etched in it!!!
And for sure this is something the coach will for sure use!!!
He definently uses his still!!!

So what I needed was:
Mugs~ Dollar store (6-$6.00)
Etching Cream~ (Michaels $12.99- use 40%coupon)
Tisuue paper~ On hand
Candy~ $4.00
Vinyl~ On hand

So I got some pink vinyl, which I hardly ever use, so no biggie using it!!!
Got the Cricut out, and cut "#1 Coach" out

After cut out, you will use the main words, not the letters that pop out!!!

Then once you cut out the words, you will attach it to a clean dry mug.
Getting it on straight is really hard!!

Then with a sponge brush you will put a thick layer of the cream on.
Being careful it does not drip, or seep through any holes

On the box it says leave it on for 30 seconds, WRONG!!!
It barely showed up.
So I would leave it on for 5-10minutes, before it dries.
Then once ready, you will rinse off all the cream, and pull off the vinyl!!

Here is what it should like after it is cleaned and dried!!!
Not to bad right?!?!?
I was pretty impressed myself!!!

Here are a few more gathered!!!

I filled up with tissue, and added some fun sized candy bars,
with a little tag, saying thank you!!!

When I gave them to all the coaches, they were super surprised and very happy with what they got!!!
It took about an hour to do all 6, but the longest was applying the vinyl!!!

Do this for Coaches, Weddings, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Etc.!!!!
